ENTRY BARRIERS / ARKDES
This is a modular system of entry barriers to help protect citizens from eventual attacks. It is commissioned by ArkDes, the Museum of Architecture and Design in Stockholm, for the exhibition Public Luxury, currently showing at ArkDes. Besides blocking areas from high speed vehicles, I wanted to make it something useful for many, and something that brings people together. The result is a modular system of rounded stairs in concrete. The modularity makes it easy to fit all widths of streets and fullfill the requirements of accessibility for ambulances and police. They are easily moved and docked together.
